The Establishment:Located in Rome, NY at the foot of the Adirondack mountains, gateway to the beautiful Mohawk Valley, and just 13 miles from Utica, Angels Nest B&B is a spacious, mello-brick, two-story building constructed in 1950 and dedicated in July, 1951, as the Transfiguration of Our Lord Convent to house the Felicaian nuns of Rome, New York. In its resurrection as a bed and breakfast, Angels Nest features five guest bedrooms while retaining many of its original features, such as the chapel, complete with pews and stained-glass windows. Eclectic Treasures:Filled to bursting with eclectic treasures from the life and travels of Innkeeper Mary O. Davis, Angels Nest oozes exotic charm. The middle east theme of the guest living room features an antique brass mongul. The formal dining room displays oriental prints. Sophie’s Room is decorated with antique Turkish carpets and objects de arts. Each guest bedroom has its own unique motif. Directions:Location:Rome, NY is a city of about 30,000 Inhabitants. Twenty minutes from Utica, NY and about 40 minutes from Syracuse, NY, it is a water paradise in the summer, a firey feast for the eyes in the fall and a snow bunny's dream in the winter. Robins and glorious forsythia mark the coming of the fragrant spring. From Syracuse and north:Take the Rome/Oneida thruway exit #33. Follow Route 365 E. (about 15 minutes) to S. James Street exit. Stay on S. James to Erie Blvd. (Denny’s will be on your left. Turn left onto Erie Blvd. Go one block to S. George St. Turn left onto S. George. Go 1.5 blocks. The Convent will be on your right just after Henry St. From points south:Take the Utica thruway exit. Airport:The nearest major airport is Syracuse-Hancock International, about 50 minutes away. Train:Amtrak NYC to Niagara Falls/ Montreal Line has daily stops to and from Rome.

Meals:Registered guests enjoy their choice of complimentary Continental or full American breakfast in the formal dining room from 7:30 A.M. until 9:30 A.M. daily. Friends of registered guests may join us for breakfast for a fee. Complimentary cold drinks (soft drinks, water, and juices) are available self-service from the small refrigerator in the butler’s pantry located between the dining room and the kitchen. Special meals are available upon request. Prior notice is advisable. The American breakfast of the day might include one or more of Mary's specialties guaranteed to tease your olfactory sense and delight your taste buds, dishes such as Apple-herbed Sausage Patties, Buttermilk Belgium Waffles with fresh strawberries or Blueberries & Clotted Cream, Proscuitto & Melon, Heavenly Mango with fresh ginger syrup, Oven Baked Fruit Pancakes with fresh blueberry or raspberry syrup, Southern Style Breakfast, including cured ham, grits & red-eye gravy, Angels Nest Five Fruit Breakfast Smoothie, assorted fruit and meat breakfast crepes and a variety of hot breakfast breads and muffins.
